The Girl & the Raven

On a day when everything feels heavy, a young girl crosses paths with a raven who helps her see the world in a new light. Through their surprising friendship, she discovers that hope can rise even in life’s hardest moments. The Girl and the Raven is a touching Appalachian story about kindness, forgiveness, and love, and it shows how choosing to uplift others can gently turn sorrow into joy.

Southern Appalachian Dance Collective is proud to bring this story to the stage in a world-premiere ballet inspired by Hugh Belcher’s original fairytale. With new choreography, an original score by Isaac Ratliff (Florencia and the Feeling, Charlie Maples), and heartfelt performances by SADC dancers, this production celebrates friendship, resilience, and the steady light kindness brings to even the darkest skies.
